CHOOSING YOUR DOCTORS
Members can discuss our experiences with local doctors one-on-one with you at the SAGA meetings.
We cannot and will not advise you on hormone regimens or where to obtain hormones without a
prescription. We can assist you locating a therapist to help determine if you are indeed transgender
and we can recommend the doctors we have found to be understanding and helpful.
WARNING
We cannot emphasize enough the dangers of taking hormones on your own without a doctor's
supervision. Hormones are very powerful drugs. If taken in excessive dosages, they can do great
harm. Do not obtain your hormones from Mexico or overseas. Come to a meeting and we will tell you
which doctors are qualified and experienced to help you.
